CausePlay’s Ambulance Wrap is Coming Together!

The CausePlay ambulance is getting a major visual upgrade! After brainstorming the perfect look for our mobile maker space, we’ve been working with a wrap specialist to create a design that will stand out at conventions, craft fairs, and school programs.

We’re leaning into a futuristic, high-tech aesthetic with a mix of chrome and satin black to give the ambulance a sleek and eye-catching presence. Whether it’s parked on the show floor or rolling up to an event, we want it to turn heads and make a statement!

Even better—we’re working on a sponsorship deal with the wrap shop, meaning they’ll get some well-deserved recognition while helping us bring this vision to life.

A Bumpy Road with Yorba Linda

Getting to this stage hasn’t been without its challenges. Originally, we planned to have both the mechanical work and paint done in one place at a shop in Yorba Linda. However, after a week of waiting for a quote that never arrived—despite multiple follow-ups—we had to cut our losses and move on.

While setbacks like this are frustrating, it’s all part of the journey of building something from the ground up. In the end, it actually worked out in our favor, as we found a more reliable and affordable shop locally to handle the work. Lesson learned: always have a backup plan!

Mechanical Repairs Are Almost Done!

ACA Automotive, the local shop now handling the ambulance’s mechanical repairs, expects to have everything wrapped up by Thursday or Friday at the latest! They’re currently:

✅ Repairing the power steering line that leaks every time i try to parallel park 😅

✅ Fixing the wiring to the mass airflow sensor (which had been redone poorly by the previous owner)

✅ Recharging and pressure-testing the A/C system

One issue we discovered is that the in-dash air flow actuator is frozen, meaning the dashboard will need to be removed to fix it. Since that’s a major labor repair, we’re holding off until after WonderCon to keep everything on schedule.

What’s Next?

• Finalizing the wrap design and sponsorship details

• Scheduling the installation

• Prepping for our first big event appearance!

This is a huge step forward in making CausePlay a recognizable brand in the cosplay and maker community, and we can’t wait to show you the final result!

Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, thank you for being part of the journey!
